Keene and the Monadnock Region are full of fascinating things to see and do — especially during Pumpkin Festival time. While the festival is a single day, you can easily fill a week or more taking advantage of all our region has to offer — whether you like hiking mountains, visiting historical sites, or sampling fine dining. The Keene Pumpkin Festival is held each year during New Hampshire’s brilliant foliage season…reason enough to come for a visit!

We have provided links to information on both lodging and dining in the Keene area. One word of advice: Inns and hotels fill up well ahead of time in the fall; make your reservations early!

Please note: There will be a $10 parking charge per vehicle, $30 charge for buses and special VIP charge for tour buses.

 

Schedule of Events

10 a.m. Festival begins; food and craft vendors open.

10:30 a.m. Shuttle buses begin.

Noon Costume parade.

1 p.m. Live entertainment begins.

5 p.m. Seed spitting and pie eating contest.

8 p.m. Announcement of the total.

8:30 p.m. Fireworks.

9 p.m. Festival ends.

Important Parking Information

 

The annual Pumpkin Fest is approaching.  Friday, October 15th, 2010, will once again be family night, with Saturday, October 16th, 2010 being the main event. 

 

With this event comes temporary parking restrictions.  Violations of the parking restrictions will result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.

 

There will be NO PARKING beginning at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 15 thru 6:00 AM Sunday, October 17 in the following areas:

Central Square

Main Street, both sides, from Emerald Street/Eagle Court to Central Square

Railroad Street, both sides, from Main Street to Wells Street

 

There will be No Parking beginning at 6:00AM on Saturday, October 16 thru 6:00AM on Sunday, October 17 in the following parking lots:

Commercial Street parking lot

Cypress Street parking lot

Gilbo Avenue East parking lot

 

Additionally, a one half mile radius of downtown Keene will be extensively posted No Parking.  For specific streets please see the Keene Police Dept website.

 

For the safety and convenience of all Festival attendees, citizens and visitors alike are strongly encouraged to utilize the following event satellite parking sites:

Maple Avenue: Peerless Insurance parking lot

Optical Avenue: Timken, Markem and C&S Grocers parking lots

Route 12 South: Cheshire Fairgrounds parking lot

 

Handicap accessible parking will continue to be located at the Keene Middle School parking lot and the Winter Street parking lot.

 

Recreation Vehicle (RV) and Coach bus Parking must use one of the satellite parking lots listed above.

 

Again, vehicles in violation of the above parking restrictions will be towed at the owner’s expense.
